Maeve (Colored Concept Sketch)

Looks like I now overcame my general lack of motivation and only need to find my way back into drawing properly. Maybe I'll draw more again once I got a few things straight IRL

This time, I decided to present an important character from my main novel. Her name is Maeve and she is something like a mother- or big sister figure for the main protagonists, April ( www.deviantart.com/seminon/art… ) and her best friend Charo. She's also along for the ride throughout all three arcs.

Here she is using her fanciest form and shows off the finalized version of her signature move. Her usual form is a bit more tame, ha ha. Still looks like a creep though...even if it's a friendly creep.

I tried the approach from my last piece another time - making a ballpoint sketch and giving it a touch of color - also with the same old shitty pencils. But that's probably the last time...at least for now...that I color a full picture with those. They don't give satisfying results and are hard to handle. With good pencils, yes, maybe I could do that more often, but I can't afford those. Well, not my thing either way. It's a lazyass-solution.
Still, it was an interesting experience. Her hair should be a nuance darker though and have a little more vivid color.

If I add up the time I needed for the experimental techniques, it might have taken me four or five hours. I hope you like it^^
